Our attitude toward safety couldn't be clearer — Nothing is more important than safety. Nothing.
It's part of our culture, our DNA.
In fact, several of our divisions are registered as meeting both the ANSI Z10 and OHSAS 18001 standards. As well, Nucor is leading the steel products industry with its involvement in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
This level of safety is done through hard work and continual improvement of an already impressive safety record. Our divisions accomplish this by voluntarily inviting inspections and qualifying for advanced OSHA, ANSI, OHSAS and other similar programs, seeking out new ideas and sharing best practices between all our Divisions. We do it by actively auditing our own sites and rewarding those who lead the way.
