When you join Nucor, there will be a plan in place specifically for you. You will be given a real job that has real impact with the resources you need to be successful. You will also have a plan that gives you exposure to broader division and company objectives so that you can begin networking and learning about how all the pieces fit together. This is an individual plan for you. You will not be a number.
- A Division Consul: The consul is responsible for making sure that you have a confidant to inquire about "how things work," how to navigate the division and company, who to talk to about resources and issues, and general advice about becoming a Nucor teammate.
- Division Orientation: Your division orientation will provide you with a hands-on look at your division, and the opportunity to see and experience how your division operates.
- College Forum: Each year, Nucor will bring all recent college hires to Nucor's Charlotte headquarters for a forum. The forum will allow you to network and provide senior management guidance on how we can best leverage your talent.
- Feedback Plan: You'll be given a plan that lets you know who, when and how you'll be given feedback about how you're doing.
- Product Group Involvement: You'll participate in product group meetings and summits so that you have exposure to broader business and technical issues.
- VP/GM Coaching: At Nucor, what you think and do matter. The top leaders of every division want to know how they can help you develop your skills, enhance your knowledge and strengthen your abilities. You will meet with your division's vice president and general manager to discuss how your talents can be utilized to help you and your team.
- Intern Fiesta: An opportunity for all interns to visit Charlotte's headquarters and participate in company simulations and learn about Nucor's structure and culture.
