People thought I was shy when I first started designing joists here, maybe because I was young, fresh out of Michigan State. Then I started talking. To anyone who would listen: my boss the engineering manager, his boss the plant general manager, his boss the executive vice president, and even his boss, Nucor's CEO. Imagine that, I was working here less than 15 months, and I met the CEO. But that's how Nucor works. Everyone has an open door policy to new ideas. It's that openness to new ideas that motivates me to design the best joist possible. One that will support far more than the roof it's designed for. One that helps support our company. |
