Nucor is a pay-for-performance company. This philosophy has helped us be profitable every quarter for over 30 years. It's also helped us keep our "No Layoff" practice in place. We haven't laid off an employee due to lack of work in over 30 years. How many other companies can say that?

Your benefit package will reflect this philosophy:

  • Profit Sharing: Each year, Nucor takes 10% of its operating profits and divides them up among all employees (except senior officers). Depending on company performance, this may be anywhere from 1% to over 20% of your pay.

  • 401(k): You will be able to participate in our 401(k) plan that matches your first 7% of contributions based on how well the company is doing. The match ranges from 5% to 25%.

  • Medical and Dental: Nucor has one of the industry's most flexible and comprehensive health benefit programs, which includes wellness and health care spending accounts.

  • Tuition Reimbursement: Nucor takes continuing education seriously. Nucor will reimburse up to $3,000 of your approved educational expenses each year. We'll also reimburse your spouse up to $1,500 per year for a maximum of 2 years.

  • Scholarships: Nucor provides the children of every employee up to $3,000 worth of scholarship funding each year to be used at accredited academic institutions.

  • Extra: LTD, life insurance, vacation.
